The craft revolution

I love all things crafty, geeky and just plain cute.

And then there's my obsession with anything eco-friendly and brilliant use of small spaces. Take a look at these...

Sew your own produce bags

At Sewing Green, you can download the pattern and make your own bag to carry your veggies the next time you go shopping at the farmers' market.  http://cachefly.oreilly.com/make/craft/sewinggreen_producebags.pdf

Lovebunny
I love Niamh's little helper, Craft Bunny, on her website www.urbancrafts.com. He features quite a lot - one of the tutorials on making a crafty card show's him in action:

See - isn't he cute!

He's not the star of the show, though. She shows how to make a beautiful card that's more a piece of art than anything else. The final product looks like this.

Check it out over here at Urban Threads: http://www.urbanthreads.com/pages?id=126

Mini me

Rachel from Small notebook for a simple home created this baby closet out of a wetbar. It's amazing what ideas you come up with when you're not being able to fully renovate because you're renting but desperately need extra space. http://smallnotebook.org/2009/04/01/how-to-build-a-baby-closet/

Awww!

On her blog Homespun Threads, Aimee shows you how to make these super cute kimono-style baby booties. http://myhomespunthreads.blogspot.com/2008/12/totally-free-gift-for-all-my-sewing.html

Save the best for last
My favourite favourite website is www.anthropologie.com. It has everything from clothes, accessories to décor items. Unfortunately they don't ship to South Africa yet.

In the meantime, I covet. My longstanding obsession is this nightingale headboard. On the website it's described as: "Songbirds perch on forked branches of antiqued iron, creating a rustic lullaby." Aaah.
